Aqua Airground

1972 Amsterdam, Netherlands
Coauthors: Jeffrey Shaw, Theo Botschuijver, Sean Wellesley-Miller

Production: Eventstructure Research Group, Amsterdam

Created for the Floriade Kind en Leefmilieu festival, the Aqua-Airground was a large air-inflated cushion partially filled with water, which passersby could play on. It combined the tactile experiences of both air and water, and the splashing water inside this structure also gave the work a unique acoustic quality, similar to that of a swimming pool.
