Artificial Landscapes
Production: Eventstructure Research Group, Amsterdam
Presented at the exhibition Art after Plans in the Kunsthalle Bern, Artificial Landscapes was a series of collage proposals for situated installations using printed, air-inflated structures to create illusionistic interventions in the urban and natural landscape. Some were purely spectacular, while others invited physical engagement from the public.
In their form these projects usually proposed visual and/or temporal displacements of natural elements. While some remained speculative projects, others, such as Cloud (of daytime sky at night), Water Totems, Rainbow, Grassroll and Brickhill, were physically realised.
