More & Less
This site-specific installation was made for exhibition in two adjacent rooms in Gallery House, London.
The first room was filled with a white inflatable structure that had the same shape as but was slightly smaller than the room, so the visitor experience was to be squeezed between the inflatable's skin and the walls.
In the other room the white inflatable structure was slightly larger than the space, and as a result was itself pressed against all the surfaces and contours of the room. This was achieved technically by creating a vacuum between the balloon skin and the room, thereby allowing visitors to enter via the doorway into the balloon volume that filled and inversely wrapped the room.
